Learning to Sew

I learned to sew quite a few years ago,  all the basics still apply today except for new time saving tips, ergonomic sewing tools, equipment and the sewing machines with all the new features.

When I graduated from high school, I took an Industrial Sewing Course, I then went to work at many different sewing factories. I learned a lot. While working I took a correspondence course in Fashion Design.  After I finished the Fashion Design course I advertised to take in sewing at home and still worked full time at a factory job.

The projects I have sewn over the past years were:
Dresses(formal and casual)
Home decor
Children's clothing
Coats
Stuffed Toys
and more

During those years of sewing my only wish was that I had taken pictures and kept a journal of the projects. In the later years of my career I have taken pictures.

Learning to sew can be accomplished if you are interested and determined. It is best to choose a simple project to start with such as:
pillows
simple skirts
aprons
placemats and napkins
tote bags
or something you have in mind.

I found a few  patterns for pillows and T-shirts for tots. They are so cute.
